Project Overview

Mecklenburg County Storm Water Services will restore approximately 5,400 ft of Irwin Creek just below I-85 to Statesville Avenue in Charlotte. This site sits on top of a single parcel of land owned by the City of Charlotte. The site is the former Statesville Road Landfill. The landfill was operated by the City of Charlotte from 1940 to 1971 and was used for disposal of household, commercial, industrial, and institutional waste.
